Here you can pre order a Thylacine germanium fuzz. This is our take on the classic 2 germanium transistor MK1.5 tonebender.

Housing carefully selected NOS or reclaimed components from the 50's 60s, 70's and 80's, these pedals are made with that vintage tone in mind. Each pedal is hand crafted, point to point, one at a time.

These are available with a range of transistors. Featuring Philips, Mullard, Valvo, NKT and GEC/Mullard to name a few, there is plenty of choice to be had here for sure. And whilst they all have their own characteristics, rest assured they all offer that classic Tonebender sound.

What ever you chose, we are sure you will love them. If is have a particular request like mix n match for example, please, drop me a line to discuss prior to purchasing.

Along with these you can find

  • Philips Electrolytic caps
  • Mullard Tropical Fish, Mullard Mustard, Iskra, coupling caps
  • Allen Bradley, Piher and Jackson resistors

Note: These components may change due to availability.

Mechanical components include -

  • Alpha pots
  • Dailywell Foot switch
  • Neutrik jacks
  • Red LED
  • Lumburg 2.1mm DC power socket

Each Van Diemens pedal is hand built, point to point, one at a time using carefully selected vintage components. When turning our pedals, we set standard transistor voltages at the beginning, but then finalize the setup tuning by ear, looking for the perfect sweet spot and finalize the bias once that point has been reached. We use classic pull back cloth wire and each board is hand crafted using either turrets, eyelets or through hole construction.

IMPORTANT: All pedals use PNP Germanium transistors and as a result, are positive ground.

These fuzz are harmonically very active. It is a thick, full and aggressive fuzz but it is also very dynamic with some great sounds being produced by the amount of pick attack alone. It cleans up very nicely when rolling the attack control back a bit and then rolling back the guitar volume, however, when it's wound up, it's loaded with rich harmonics and has that violin quality to it. This fuzz is massive.

There will be a sound file coming soon so stay tuned for that. In the mean time, check out Brett Kingmans Thylacine Demo with a similar set of OC72N Transistors.
