THE RED OCHRE AMP TOP

Here you can pre order a The Red Ochre Amp Top Treblebooster. This is our take on the classic Rangemaster Treble Booster with a couple of twists.

The name Red Ochre refers to a beautiful and rocky beach, right on our back door. It has gorgeous sandy stretches and rugged cliffs offering all the tonal options our amazing treble booster offers. Clean glassy through to almost fuzzy goodness.

Tuned just a little darker than the original pedal in it's brightest position, the boost is designed to offer classic drive and snarl to your tone without any edgy ear piercing spikes. The bright through to dark options are all usable tones and work with a variety of guitars, pickups and amps.

Each Van Diemens pedal is hand built, point to point, one at a time using carefully selected vintage components. When turning our pedals, we set standard transistor voltages at the beginning, but then finalize the setup tuning by ear, looking for the perfect sweet spot and finalize the bias once that point has been reached. We use classic pull back cloth wire and each board is hand crafted using either turrets, eyelets or through hole construction.

The base model features a Philips AC107 transistor and offers a healthy mid range bump as well as a fair amount of aggression when the guitar is dimmed. It cleans up beautifully and is chimey and clear.

You can also choose between

• Valvo OC45 Transistor
• Philips Mullard OC45 Transistor
• Mullard/Philips OC71 Transistors which are lightly less aggressive and slightly warmer in tone.
  
• And when available.
  1: Mullard or Philips Mullard OC44 Transistors for that all original vibe and tone.
  2: Texas Instruments CV7003 (red font) Transistors. These are in my opinion, the ultimate choice.

Other vintage components that can be found in these builds can include

• Philips Electrolytic caps
• Ducon, Mullard Tropical Fish, WIMA and STC caps in the tone section
• Ducon Polyester, Mullard Mustard, Iskra and other output coupling caps.
• Allen Bradley, Piher and Jackson resistors

Note: These components may change due to availability.

Mechanical components include

• Alpha pot with on/off switch

• Lumburg 2.1mm DC power socket

All this is housed in a Hammond enclosure finished in a very robust and lovely textured powdercoat finish available in 4 colours. Red, Black and Grey Hammer. The pedal comes with a calico bag, booklet, rubber feet.

IMPORTANT: This pedal uses PNP Germanium transistors and the External power is Negative (-) Center. DO NOT power this pedal using a daisy chain. Use Isolated power supplies only. Failing to do so could damage the pedal and will void any warranty.

Pre Orders usually take between 3 - 6 weeks to produce depending on stack.
