The Legges Tor (pronounce Legges like Laigs and Tor like door) is our take on the amazing Mosrite Fuzzrite. This is a seriously cool fuzz with a very cool set of controls.

Firstly though, a little about the name. Legges Tor is Tasmania's second highest mountain and is situated in the stunning Ben Lomond National Park. Legges Tor has an elevation of 1,572 m (5,157 ft) and was named after William Vincent Legge who explored the region in the late 1800's.

Legges Tor is a wild baron rocky peak that is anything but friendly, and we think that is a perfect fit for this fuzz.

The controls on this fuzz are pretty cool. It is a two transistor circuit that has a Volume and Blend control. The Blend mixes the second transistor in underneath the first. It ranges from from a thick, warm heavily overdriven sound to a bright searing chaotic fuzz. There are so many sounds to be had blending between the two extremes and it is a lot of fun to play.

In regards to the transistors, we are currently offering the Legges Tor with a mix of Philips AC125 in Q1 and a STC CV7448 in Q2. I was fortunate enough to be able to build a couple of these pedals early on with a  pair of Texas Instruments RCA 2N408 and RCA 2N2613 transistors and I liked how the 125/CV7448 pairing stacked up against them. The complexities, breakup and decay on this pairing are really cool, and man can they sizzle

There are two enclosures available for this pedal, and two colours. There is a Hammond 1590P1 (the large rectangle case) and a 2 piece enclosure from MW Pedal Parts. The colours are Silver Shimmer and White Crackle.

Most builds will include:

Philips, Sprague (or WIMA), and Mullard Tropical Fish Capacitors.
Allen Bradley, Piher and Philips resistors.
Omeg potentiometers
Alpha Fooswitch
and Neutrik Jacks

Though this may change depending on availability.

Each Van Diemens pedal is hand built, point to point, one at a time using carefully selected vintage components. When turning our pedals, we set standard transistor voltages at the beginning, but then finalize the setup tuning by ear, looking for the perfect sweet spot and finalize the bias once that point has been reached. We use classic pull back cloth wire and each board is hand crafted using either eyelets or through hole construction.

These fuzz are harmonically very active. It is a wide ranging and aggressive fuzz and does not offer much in the way of cleanup. This fuzz though is massive.

IMPORTANT: This pedal uses PNP Germanium transistors and the External power is Negative (-) CenterDO NOT power this pedal using a daisy chain. Use Isolated power supplies only. Failing to do so could damage the pedal and will void any warranty.

The pedal comes with a calico bag, booklet and rubber feet.
