THE THYLACINE
MK1.5 FUZZ CLONE

TH 034 - 02.jpg

The Thylacine was named in honour of the beautiful and now sadly extinct Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacinus cynocephalus) that left our planet in the mid-1930s. The Thylacine was an apex predator and was the largest predatory marsupial in the world (its distant cousin, the Tasmanian Devil, now holds that distinction) and roamed the woodlands and grasslands of the midlands region and coastal heaths of Tasmania. The Thylacine originated well over 1 million years ago and was a wild, ferocious, and beautiful animal, which we think is the perfect namesake for this fuzz.

Van Diemens' fuzz pedals are based on the classic 2 transistor MK1.5 Tonebenders. These pedals can come with a variety of options, but all are created with 60s NOS or reclaimed germanium transistors and NOS or reclaimed capacitors and resistors. We use either, period correct germanium transistors in OC75s (when available) or a choice of classic 60s germanium transistors that can include OC84s, OC81s, and OC72s. Each pedal comes standard with an external nine volt power socket.

There are three powdercoat options for the finish of your Thylacine. You can choose between black, hammer grey or gold. Please see the images below. It is not available in a hand painted finish.

You may also request on/off battery switches, a bias control and tone switching options.
